The Karnak Temple Complex in Luxor, Egypt is home to three main temples, several smaller enclosed temples, and a number of outer temples – combining the achievements of many generations of ancient builders over a period of 1500 years. Aswan Botanical Garden is essentially an entire island known as Kitchener’s Island. The island slowly but sure morphed into a world class botanical garden when it was given to Lord Kitchener in 1898. Today, Aswan Botanical Garden is very popular among locals and tourists, but it’s so much more than just a pretty place to enjoy a weekend picnic, the Aswan Botanical Garden also serves as an important center of botanical research that tests the viability suitability of certain plants species in the Egyptian climate. Many tourists like to visit the gardens as part of a “felucca” tour of the river and the islands of Aswan.
Situated on the ancient site of Thebes, on Luxor’s West Bank, the Valley of Kings is the ancient burial ground of many of Egypt’s New Kingdom rulers. For a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock cut tombs were excavated for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. There you will find Tutankhamen tomb which was discovered almost intact in 1922 and the tomb of Ramses IV, among others. A ticket will allow you visiting 3 of the 63 tombs on site, except Tutankhamen tomb which requires an additional ticket.
